ACS Reassessment
NEXT COURSE
DATE:
16th September 2024
WHO SHOULD ATTEND THIS COURSE?
The ACS Reassessment is not really a course but as the name suggests is an assessment of your continued professional development as a Gas Safe registered engineer. Candidates undertaking this assessment will have already been gas engineers for at least 5 years, as this is the current renewal period.
WHAT DO I NEED TO TAKE THIS COURSE?
On the first day of your assessment we require a photograph and to see your existing ACS certificates so we can take a copy for the certification body as per their requirements.
Note - We are unable to start the assessment without this evidence.
HOW LONG IS THE COURSE?
We understand at WM Gas Training the importance of your time so we aim to get you finished as soon as possible. This normally takes 2 to 3 days but may take a little longer if you need refresher training.
COURSE CONTENT
ACS Elements Required
In all areas of gas work there is a core gas safety element which must be achieved before an individual appliance assessment can be undertaken. There are core gas safety elements for domestic NG, LPG, commercial heating, commercial catering, commercial laundry, emergency service provider and metering.
For Example:
Domestic Natural Gas:
-
Core Domestic Gas Safety - CCN1 (compulsory), now includes combustion performance analysis,
once this has been completed, the appliance assessment relevant to your work can be completed:
-
Central Heating Boilers & Water Heaters - (CENWAT)
-
Cookers - (CKR1)
-
Gas Fires - (HTR1)
-
Meters - (MET1)
-
Warm Air Heaters - (DAH1)
-
Unvented Hot water Systems
For those moving from one ACS core to another there are changeover assessments that will assess the candidate in the areas that are not common to the original core. The candidate would then take the relevant appliance elements in relation to their specific job. Candidates should contact us at WM Gas Training approved ACS centre before undertaking the changeover assessment as additional training or experience may be necessary and we can advise you before you book your new assessment.
